Lowry Park Zoo

So, Erin and I went to Lowry Park Zoo back in the summer of 2006 during a visit to Trajan and Lauren's place in Bradenton and just had a blast. We videorecorded the whole visit, and it has been one of my favorite home videos to sit back and enjoy. We've been meaning to go ever since we've moved here - even having driven to the gates only to decide against going in because it was too crowded, to0 expensive, too little time left before it closed, etc. Well, we finally took the plunge and went - we even bought season passes, so we can go over and over for the price of going twice. A lot had changed in two years, but I still had a great time. We ran out of time to see it all our last visit, so, thanks to my change of employment with Amscot, we're going to go a few times in the next couple of weeks to soak it all in. Erin hand-fed a giraffe again, we saw some baby white tiger cubs very up-close (white tigers are amazingly beautiful in person), saw a bird show, fed some goats (as you can see, Erin was quite fond of one of them :) ). The Lowry Zoo is just ten times better than any zoo you've been to before. You can feed the birds, the giraffes, the rhinos, the sting rays, the fish, it's just very interactive. At the same time, you can tell that the zoo goes to great lengths to give the animals a very open habitat, give them comfortable privacy, and make sure the animals are happy - so many animals in zoos look bored and lonely, but this zoo is simply the best. I'm going to feed the stingrays and the parrots next time...

  1. Seems like you guys have been having fun. I'm not too sure about that goat love though... :)
